Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected on this website and how it is used. It applies to Hartwell & Sons Funeral Home’s website only.
Information you choose to give us
We only collect information you type in yourself:
- Contact form. Your name, your email address if you provide one, and your message. It is stored for Hartwell & Sons Funeral Home and emailed to us so we can reply.
- Condolences and memories. The name and message you submit on an obituary page. These are reviewed by our staff before they appear publicly. We do not ask for your email address to leave a condolence.
- Photos and obituary details. If a member of our staff invites you to help write an obituary or share photographs, we collect what you submit — names, dates, the story you write, your own name and phone number so we know who to thank, and any photographs you upload.
We do not sell this information, rent it, or share it for advertising. We use it to serve the family and to answer you.
What we do not collect
We count how many times each page is viewed, and nothing else. That count records the page address and the time. It does not record your IP address, your device, your location, or anything that identifies you.
There are no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, and no analytics or marketing scripts on this website. If you are simply reading the site, no cookie is placed on your device at all. A single sign-in cookie exists for Hartwell & Sons Funeral Home staff logging in to manage the site; visitors never receive it.
Google services on this site
This website uses Google Maps Platform, specifically the Google Places API, to display our Google star rating and recent Google reviews on the home page. Reviewers’ names, profile photographs, and review text come directly from Google. Profile photographs are loaded from Google’s servers when the page displays them; we do not copy or store them.
This website also loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. In both cases Google may receive your IP address as part of serving that content, in the same way any website you visit receives it.
By using this website you are also bound by Google’s Terms of Service, and Google’s Privacy Policy is incorporated into this policy by reference and applies to Google’s handling of that information.
Reviews shown here appear in the order Google returns them. We do not filter them by star rating, and we do not hide reviews we would rather you did not read.
Companies that help us run this website
A small number of service providers process information strictly on our behalf: our website host, our photograph storage provider, and the service that delivers our email notifications. They may not use this information for their own purposes.
Children
This website is intended for adults arranging or attending a service. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Removing something you submitted
If you would like a condolence, a photograph, or a message you sent us removed, contact Hartwell & Sons Funeral Home at (816) 555-0142 or erik@lamcraft.com and we will take it down. You do not need to give a reason.
Google reviews are not ours to remove — they belong to the reviewer and to Google. Requests about a Google review have to go to Google.
Terms of use
Our Terms of Use cover your use of this website generally, including anything you post here.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page.
