Dorothy Kessler

Dorothy Mae Kessler, 79, longtime Cedar Ridge elementary school teacher, passed away July 2, 2026.

For 34 years, "Mrs. K" taught second grade, which means nearly half this town learned to read at her knee. She kept every class photo, remembered every name, and until her last month could still tell you which desk you sat in. A celebration of life was held at the community center she helped raise funds to build.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you read to a child this week.
